Statement of intent
I intend for my
magazine to follow the main rules and conventions of a modern day
fashion magazine, with a medium to close-up shot with the chosen
model who maintains a direct mode of address with the audience which
is set to be 16-25 years old. I intend for my models to be dressed
smartly as a form of a more formal fashion. This is quite common in
Men’s fashion magazines usually depicting a desirable form of
celebrity the audience can aspire to. The background of the front
cover should not be as important as the model depicted, hence I will
blur the background to where it is not fully comprehensible but not
blurred enough you can’t see what it is, as a way to focus on the
models providing the direct mode of address. This will be done with a
Lumix camera not provided by the school in areas outside of a photo
studio setting as a way to capture the models in as much natural
light as possible, The writing of the
title should offer a level of contrast to the models, looking almost
graffiti like as it is written across the page without going too much
into the idea of a more lower level of fashion due to it not being
reflected anywhere else in the cover. One model will be of a white ethnicity going with the stereotypical view of magazine covers whereas the second model is of a black ethnicity counter-typical to a mainstream magazine outlet as the models are presented to be both sensible and calm as opposed to the aggressiveness of men outlined in other magazines.
